Day of Clinical Research 2013: And the winners are ...

Two members of the FP7 NANOCI team have received prices at this years “Day of Clinical Research” by the Department of Clinical Research (DCR) of the University of Bern for their work on NANOCI:

Johanna Dürmüller-Bol DCR Research Prize 2013, CHF 30‘000.-
The prestigious Research Prize goes this year to Dr. Marta Roccio, Department of Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases, Head and Neck Surgery, Inselspital, Bern University Hospital; Audiology Research Group, Department of Clinical Research, University of Bern, for her research project on
"Reactivation of dormant inner ear stem cells through modulation of cell cycle and developmental regulators"


DCR Poster Prizes
The prize for the best laboratory-oriented project out of 170 contestants goes this year to Mr. Stefan Hahnewald, Department of Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases, Head and Neck Surgery, Inselspital, Bern University Hospital; Audiology Research Group, Department of Clinical Research, University of Bern, for his work on
"First steps towards a gapless interface between auditory neurons and multi-electrode arrays in vitro"

Presention of NANOCI at EuroNanoForum 2013

NANOCI Coordinator PD Dr. med. Pascal Senn gave an invited presentation titled “Making deaf people hear – European Project” at the EuroNanoForum 2013 (ENF 2013) which was held in Dublin, Ireland at 18- 20 June 2013. EuroNanoForum (ENF) nanotechnology conferences are organised within the framework of national presidencies and promoted by DG research, Directorate G of the European Commission. ENF 2013 was the 6th edition of this conference. Nearly 1,500 active members of the nanotechnology community from 50 countries around the world participated in the event.

The full version of the NANOCI website is now online. It hosts information on the project and its objectives and published results including a specific outreach section with extra illustrative and animated material for the larger public.

NANOCI consortium meeting

The second NANOCI consortium meeting took place in Innsbruck, Austria on 05-06 March 2013.
